Please note the CA DMV does not currently allow online classes and you may not take this online class to fulfill a CA DMV requirement whether you live in or out of state. You may take this class for a court only requirement with prior approval. For a list of CA approved DMV programs, click here. Other states where the DMV does not allow online programs includes, but may not be limited to: New Jersey, North Carolina, Iowa, Illinois, Florida, Texas, Colorado, Vermont, Oregon. Please check with your local DMV BEFORE enrolling in any of our online DUI classes to ensure acceptability in your state.

What are online DUI Classes?

Online DUI classes serve as educational interventions aimed at equipping individuals convicted of driving under the influence (DUI) with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent future incidents. Typically mandated by courts, these programs vary in duration, spanning from a few hours to several months, contingent upon the severity of the offense and court stipulations.

Increasingly embraced for their convenience and flexibility, online DUI classes offer accessibility from any location with internet connectivity. This means participants can engage with the program from the comfort of their homes or while on the go. Furthermore, the self-paced nature of online DUI classes enables individuals to tailor their learning experience to accommodate their busy schedules.

However, it's important to note that not all courts accept online DUI classes as a substitute for in-person classes. Before enrolling in an online DUI class, individuals should check with their court to ensure that the program meets the court's requirements.

DUI Statistics in the Unitied States:

As of 2021, here are some general statistics related to DUIs (Driving Under the Influence) in the United States:

DUI Arrests: According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, law enforcement agencies in the United States made approximately 638,000 arrests for DUI in 2020. However, it's important to note that data for 2021 might not be fully available yet.

Alcohol-Impaired Driving Fatalities: In 2019 (the most recent year for which complete data is available), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that alcohol-impaired driving fatalities accounted for 28% of all traffic-related fatalities in the United States. This amounted to 10,142 deaths in crashes involving alcohol-impaired drivers.

BAC Levels: According to NHTSA, the legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit for driving in all states is 0.08%. In 2019, among drivers involved in fatal crashes who had a known BAC, 64% had a BAC at or above 0.08%.

Underage Drinking and Driving: In 2019, there were 1,860 alcohol-impaired driving fatalities involving drivers aged 16 to 20 years old. This age group accounted for 16% of all alcohol-impaired driving fatalities despite representing only 7% of licensed drivers.

Prevalence: According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), an estimated 12.8 million people aged 16 or older reported driving under the influence of alcohol in the past year in 2019.
